BBQ Charcoal
This Barbeque Charcoal is UK-Produced, locally to us in Bedfordshire using well-seasoned hardwoods like: Hazel, Ash, Oak, Hawthorn & Blackthorn from the local woodlands. It is easy to light and burn with no additives and little smoke. As it such high quality, firelighters aren’t completely necessary but if needed then why not try our Natural Firelighters which are free from toxic chemicals and won’t taint your food with noxious stuff. The charcoal comes in a recyclable brown bag that weighs approx 3.5kg but the weight can of course vary so we do not sell by weight.
Recommended Use: Wrap a couple of handfuls in a few sheets of dry newspaper and set in your BBQ or throw some in with our firelighters and light away. Leave this for a couple of minutes, once lit you can add more charcoal and leave again, repeat until you’re happy with the amount then after approx 20 minutes it should be ready to cook on.
The lump wood charcoal is produced by a local family business like ours called: Wassledine, Guy & Jane along with their daughter and team, cut and coppice wood in the local woodlands and turn it into lump wood BBQ charcoal using a retort. The wood to be charred is sealed into a vessel and heated by burning biomass (woodchip and other small diameter waste wood). By purchasing this BBQ Charcoal you will not only improve your culinary experience but you’re also supporting local family run businesses like ours!
